Dave Heltzel - Owner/Broker/REALTOR®
Dave, a graduate of Texas A&M University, with both a B.B.A. and M.S. in accounting, brings a youthful hunger and motivation to the LSSR Team. Having spent 4 years providing business management and tax consulting services, Dave now owns and operates a marketing company, Cross Timbers Marketing, that targets and assists clients within the outdoors and real estate industries. Dave is also the CEO and Publisher of the Texas Sporting Journal - The Worldwide Outdoors Magazine of Texas. The magazine offers award wining writing and photography to quality-conscious anglers, hunters and adventurers, seeking sporting opportunities in Texas and beyond. As a licensed Real Estate Broker and Owner, Dave will assist LSSR clients in buying and selling real estate, as well as, developing marketing and advertising materials for Lone Star Sporting Ranches.
Dave is also an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending as much time as possible in the great outdoors. Happily married for over 4 years, Dave also enjoys spending time and participating in outdoor activities with his wife. Dave also has over 13 years experience participating in a ranch and whitetail breeding operation.

After 36 years of a very rewarding and enjoyable high school coaching career, David decided to retire and enter the exciting world of Real Estate. During his coaching career, David was the head coach in Navasota, Weatherford, Graham, and Mineral Wells, where he had the fortune to have coached some outstanding athletes and worked with great coaches. David’s coaching career has instilled in him the value of hard work, loyalty, teamwork, and honesty – all qualities important to people looking for a professional Real Estate Agent.
David graduated from Dallas Carter in 1969, and then attended The University of Houston on a football scholarship, starting for three years as an offensive lineman for Coach Bill Yeoman. David has a very supportive wife, Elizabeth, who is a court reporter for the 29th District Court in Palo Pinto County, along with a son, Brant, who lives in Spring, Texas with his wife, Yvonne. David enjoys the outdoors, hunting, fishing, playing guitar, target shooting, riding horses, and cruising down the highway on his iron horse (Harley).

Karen Kennedy - Agent/REALTOR®
Karen grew up in the beautiful Oak Cliff area of Dallas where she graduated from Justin F Kimball High School. Soon after, she received her undergraduate business degree from Dallas Baptist University. While climbing the corporate ladder Karen continued to advance her knowledge and education. After a couple of stints with the University of Dallas, Karen received a Masters of Telecommunications Management, and completed her MBA as well.
Karen has over 30 years experience in information technology management and consulting, where she worked in the Dallas area for firms such as Southwest Airlines and IBM. She then branched out and spent 8 years as a Financial Consultant with Smith Barney, and now owns her own financial consulting firm Lariat Wealth Management. In addition to being a REALTOR®, Karen’s credentials include Certified Financial Planner® and Chartered Life Underwriter.
Karen is a proud mother of two children and has two handsome grandsons. Karen spends all of her free time enjoying the outdoors, golf, hiking, gourmet cooking, and traveling the world. Active in the community, Karen has many public service achievements including past chairman of the Gun Barrel City Chamber of Commerce, founder the Cedar Creek SCORE Branch (Counselors to America’s Small Business), Chairman of the Library at Cedar Creek Endowment Fund, President of the Pinnacle Wine Society.
